Goa Contract Labour (Regulation And Abolition) Amendment Ordinance, 2020
Governor of Goa vide notification no.8/1/2020-LA dated 26th June 2020 has promulgated The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) (Goa Amendment) Ordinance, 2020 vide which the applicability to the act for the establishments employing TWENTY (20) or more workmen has been amended to FIFTY (50) or more workmen.
Further new section 25A has been inserted defining penalty for offences. This new section 25A read as, “Compounding of offences- (1) Any offence punishable under sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 22 and section 24 may, either before or after the institution of the prosecution, on an application by the alleged offender, be compounded by such officer or authority as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette.
